Deb Halloran peeled the yellow violation sticker off my front door and pressed it flat onto my chest in my own driveway, shouting that my dead husband's unpainted fence was dropping everyone's property values.

Fifty neighbors watched from their lawns with their phones up. One of them, Priya, kept recording even after Deb stepped back and pointed at the fence like it was evidence.
